Aura Festival Announces Richie Hawtin Headline Show at Historic Palermo Palace

Aura Festival has announced its next event for 1 June 2026 with Richie Hawtin set to headline a performance at Palazzina Cinese in Palermo, Sicily.

The announcement follows the sold-out debut edition of Aura, which took place beside the ancient Doric temple at Archaeological Park of Segesta, one of Sicily’s best-preserved archaeological sites. The event formed part of Aura’s wider concept of presenting electronic music performances in historically and culturally significant locations across the island.

Following the Segesta event, Luigi Biondo, Director of the Archaeological Park of Segesta, praised the collaboration between the festival and the heritage site.

“A connection between nature and architecture - this is exactly the path we shared with Aura, an event that brings the world together through music and beauty. The time has come to place our trust in young people, because they are the ones who will help us find new paths, and care for the extraordinary places that surround us.

The next chapter of the series moves to Palazzina Cinese, an 18th-century royal residence originally built as a retreat for King Ferdinand III. Located within Palermo’s Parco della Favorita, the historic palace is known for its distinctive blend of European and Oriental architectural influences.

Richie Hawtin will headline the event alongside Horacio Cruz. Hawtin remains one of the most influential figures in contemporary techno through his work as Plastikman, the founding of the M-nus label and his long-standing contributions to live electronic performance and club culture internationally.

Further events across Sicily are expected to be announced as part of Aura’s 2026 programme. Tickets and additional information are available via Aura Festival
