Contemporary techno titans Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens come together for collaborative new EP One Mind
Belgian techno mainstays Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens have got together in the studio for the first time to craft this new One Mind EP. It arrives on 6 February which is in the middle of their upcoming series of back-to-back sets at Flanders Expo in Ghent on 31 January and 1 and 8 February.
Both Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens came up through the club scenes of their native Belgium. It's a country known for its penchant for darker, harder rhythms and sounds and in the years since, the two artists have very much sat at the forefront of those worlds.
De Witte heads up her KNTXT label and event series and has made everything from acid to ambient, techno to trance, while also headlining her own events and many top clubs and festivals across the world. Lens is a similarly influential figure in modern techno who founded the Exhale and LENSKE labels and was the first ever woman with her own residency in Ibiza.
This new EP features two tracks, both of which underscore the concept of real collaboration as both artists’ voices are carefully layered into the tracks.
'One Mind' is a hard techno pile-driver detailed with subtle, alluring vocal whispers and lit up by bright, electrifying synths and visceral acid. The energy remains high on the slamming 'Where Do We Go' which brings more acid-laced grooves and some emotive trance-techno synths that are powerful in more ways than one.
