Elektrons welcomes Anahit Vardanyan: a harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity
In a thrilling announcement, Elektrons proudly unveils its third release, marking a significant milestone with the introduction of its first signed artist. Live performer and producer Anahit Vardanyan joins Hannes Bieger’s esteemed label with her mesmerizing release, Avyun.
Anahit Vardanyan brings a rich tapestry of influences to her music. Her classical training is seamlessly intertwined with her extensive club experiences, reflecting her journey from her Armenian roots to her current life in Hamburg. This unique blend, along with her deep understanding of the emotional impact of sound and vibration, positions her as a standout artist who embodies the very essence of Elektrons.
Adding a personal touch to her debut, Anahit has also created the artwork for her release. Each of the two tracks is represented by a painting, making this project a heartfelt endeavor.
The title track, Avyun, is a profound homage to Anahit’s Armenian heritage, weaving traditional instruments like the duduk and dhol into a vibrant, modern soundscape. The result is a captivating blend of passion, yearning, and cultural awakening, with pulsing low-end beats, vivid synth layers, and bold musical progressions. "Creating and releasing my latest EP AVYUN has been a personal and emotional journey. These compositions are infused with emotions of longing and some melancholy, born from the experience of being far from home. The melodies reflect my attempt to connect with the energy of my homeland through music. Still the creative process was full of joy while I was experimenting and combining acoustic and electronic sound elements, traditional melodies and rhythms with modern electronic beats."
