Louie Vega’s 20-year-strong Vega Records is back with a suitably supersized package of new remixes for Tony Touch’s hit ‘Apaga La Luz'

Originally released last year, produced and written by Tony Touch alongside mixes from Pablo Fierro, ‘Apaga La Luz’ has lived on and continued to spread via word of mouth and colossal club reactions, making it into a modern classic that is sung back by crowds at The Ritual with Anańe and Louie Vega in Ibiza, their summer residency in 2023. As such, Vega has now enlisted a star-studded cast of names who have been keen to remix it, and the results are impressive while covering a rich array of styles and sounds.

First up is Two Soul Fusion, a studio project started by Vega and Josh Milan during lockdown that has now remixed and produced for the likes of Robert Glasper and Dames Brown, amongst others. They flip the record into a Latin-tinged house cut with a pulsing bassline and plenty of percussive details and energy while also offering a more raw ‘Beat-Sax Mix’ with menacing low-end frequencies.

French icon and global dance music game changer David Guetta has already been playing his remix to huge reactions across the globe. He flips it into a wonky party starter with fiery vocals, whistles, tribal drums and snappy snare patterns. Fellow house music legend David Morales then steps up with a deep and steamy remix with low-slung drums and resonant bass, alongside an ‘Alt Mix’ with a spine-tingling breakdown plus instrumental versions of both.

Last up comes underground mainstay Mike Dunn, the Chicago legend behind an endless list of house classics, all with his distinctive vocal flair and hip-hop sensibility. His re-touch has a heavy Latin rhythm, with the sax line making way for a dark lead as the percussive drums hit hard down low.
