Mind Against releases new love seeking EP

The formidable Italian DJ/production duo Mind Against releases their new Love Seeking EP. Featuring the previously released soulful title track alongside an extended and club mix, the EP also includes a climactic remix from the respected German duo Âme. The release is out now via DJ Tennis’s Life and Death label, available on both digital and vinyl.

As Billboard described it in their weekly dance music guide, the original mix of “Love Seeking” is like a “very cold glass of rosé at 6:00 p.m. on a summer Friday … the sonic and spiritual opposite of the duo’s typically dark and more pummeling output, but which proves they can do both equally well.” The track may be a departure from their established sound with its euphoric backdrop, but it serves as a full-circle moment for Mind Against, who influenced a massive wave of melodic house and techno back in 2013 with their debut release Atlant, also on Life and Death.

“This EP is very special to us as it marks our return to our very first label,” remarks Mind Against on Love Seeking. “Since the release of our Atlant EP in 2013, both ourselves and Life and Death have grown our own paths, and it’s a great feeling being back to our very first mothership with an artistic proposal transcending the usual genre boundaries.”

Innervisions bosses Âme take the track for a spin on the EP with their cinematic remix. Symphonies of luscious pads and a deep, thunderous kick shift “Love Seeking” from an indie dance bop to a theatrical techno escapade. Following a slow-burning psychedelic intro, Âme deconstructs the track down to just the vocal, shining a spotlight on it during the breakdown, and then rebuilds the energy into a massive crescendo.

Hailing from Italy and currently based in Lisbon, brothers Alessandro and Federico Fogini have made a name for themselves as Mind Against in the global dance music scene, becoming known for their emotionally rich sound palette. With their signature deep and immersive take on house and techno and their continually masterful “all-night-long” performances, the duo has risen to become a globally in-demand and lauded act in the underground dance music space.

With a mission to resurrect sounds and trends that have come and gone, DJ Tennis (real name Manfredi Romano) minted Life and Death during a time when minimal, percussive music was dominating the underground. Romano broke the mold by directing soulful, lively sounds to the foreground alongside his own post-rock influences, resulting in beloved records from the likes of Red Axes, Recondite, Calita, Jimi Jules, and more.

Romano’s decade-spanning experience in the music industry—from punk band tour manager to event organizer, artist, label head, and everything in between—has sculpted him into the ideal tastemaker. He’s performed and collaborated on original music with LP Giobbi and Alex Metric, remixed the likes of Maribou State and Jungle, performed b2b sets with Gerd Janson and Kerri Chandler, and also has served as the manager for Tale Of Us and Carlita.
