Ministry of Sound launches Boxed In DJ competition with residency and £25,000 prize package on offer

Ministry of Sound has announced the launch of Boxed In, a new live-streamed DJ competition aimed at emerging artists. Taking place on 13 September inside the club's recently renovated main room, The Box, the 12-hour event will be broadcast live on Twitch.

The competition will see six up-and-coming DJs take part in a series of challenges designed to test a range of skills including mixing, crowd control, musical selection and performance under pressure. Each contestant will be paired with one of six mentors: Mak10, Sam Divine, G33 (Girls Don't Sync), Fish 56 Octagon, Jakkob and Sian Owen.

Viewers will play an active role throughout the broadcast, with live voting and audience interaction helping to influence challenges and the overall competition.

The winning DJ will receive a Ministry of Sound residency, including opportunities to perform at club nights and international events, alongside a prize package valued at £25,000 comprising DJ equipment, studio time and artist development support.

Applications are now open. Prospective entrants are required to submit a 60-second video explaining why they should take part, along with a 15-minute DJ mix uploaded to SoundCloud. Thirty applicants will be shortlisted before the mentors each select one finalist to guide through the competition.

Boxed In forms part of Ministry of Sound's wider 35th anniversary programme, which also includes the club's recent main room renovation, an international tour and a series of anniversary events throughout 2026.
