Native Instruments Unveils Traktor Play: A New Era of Effortless DJing

Native Instruments is rewriting the rules again. Today, the Berlin-based innovator announced Traktor Play, a streamlined yet powerful version of its legendary Traktor DJ software, designed to get anyone mixing within minutes.

Built for the new wave of creators, Traktor Play condenses decades of professional-grade technology into a simple, intuitive experience. Two decks, the same pristine Traktor sound engine, and full Beatport Streaming integration mean you can start mixing right away, no controller needed.

“With Traktor Play, we wanted to make professional DJing accessible to everyone without sacrificing quality or creativity,” says Simon Cross, CPO at Native Instruments. “Partnering directly with AlphaTheta and Reloop marks an exciting new chapter for Traktor, bringing more flexibility, more accessibility, and more ways to connect than ever before.”

Instant music, instant mixes

Open your laptop, launch Traktor Play, and you’re ready to go. With Beatport previews built in, you can browse and mix from millions of tracks instantly. Every download includes two free months of Beatport Streaming Advanced, unlocking over 40 genres of club-ready music.

Pro sound, simplified

Traktor Play runs on the same sound engine trusted by professionals for decades. Industry-leading sync, key detection, and key correction keep every mix tight and musical. A built-in master limiter guarantees a punchy, distortion-free sound whether you’re mixing at home, streaming, or playing live.

Creative tools that invite play

This version may be simple, but it’s far from basic. Traktor Play gives you studio-level creative control right out of the box:

Studio-quality reverb, delay, and gater effects
Mixer FX for one-knob filter sweeps and delays
Real-time stem separation to isolate drums or vocals
Pattern Player with an 808 kit for instant beat-making
Looping, hot cues, and Flux Mode to keep your set evolving

Freedom to choose your setup

For the first time, Traktor opens its ecosystem to third-party hardware. Traktor Play includes plug-and-play compatibility with AlphaTheta’s DDJ-FLX2 and DDJ-FLX4 controllers, and easy configuration for Reloop Buddy and Reloop Ready. Whether you’re starting with just a laptop or stepping up to your first controller, Traktor Play adapts to your budget, your style, and your ambitions.

Traktor Play will be available starting November 3 for $49 / €49.
