OGUZ releases his newest record with ‘LIFE6EATERS’ EP in collaboration with fellow techno star 6EJOU
Industry-pioneering artist OGUZ has been making major waves in the electronic music scene this summer, and this week he’s back yet again with the release of another hard-hitting EP with 6EJOU. With over a decade of experience under his belt, the Dutch/Turkish artist has undoubtedly established himself as a prominent figure in the hard techno scene. Having recently hit some serious career milestones such as playing Tomorrowland’s mainstage this past July, followed with the release of his highly anticipated debut album, ‘ENTER MY SIMULATION’, just hours later, he’s reached an all-time career high with no stopping in sight. After an epic summer, OGUZ is poised to elevate the energy even further with his upcoming EP, LIFE6EATERS, which will be released this Friday, September 20, in collaboration with longtime friend and fellow techno star, 6EJOU.
Being released from his own record label, 808 STUDIOS, LIFE6EATERS continues OGUZ’s rare form and everflowing creative outlet that has seen him release numerous EP’s and his debut album all in the last 18 months. With OGUZ’s signature cutting-edge production, combined with 6EJOU’s hypnotic and industrial sound, this 4-track EP challenges the boundaries of the genre and truly captivates the senses.
‘24Karat’ opens up the EP and immediately pulls listeners in with a heavy bass intro, which builds up to an upbeat sonic soundscape. The next track, ‘Swordsman’ pulls inspiration from Japanese city pop, sampling mesmerizing vocals over a hard bassline, creating a unique and magnetic musical atmosphere. Up next, ‘Dead or Alive?’ is dark and mysterious from start to finish, with layers of brooding synths with a driving drum, evoking a sense of tension which builds to a satisfying release. And last, fittingly named ‘The End’, the final track of the EP delivers a fully transcendent finish, with OGUZ’s innovative production taking center stage.
