Oliver Heldens is back with 'Let You Go,' his first new single of 2025

Oliver Heldens returns with his first release of the year in the form of 'Let You Go' which comes on his own label Heldeep. The club-ready sound blends Eurodance nostalgia with a high-energy, old-school trance vibe.

In addition to producing the track, Heldens wrote and recorded the vocals himself which adds an emotional depth that contrasts melancholic themes with an uplifting drive.

The release comes ahead of Heldens’ headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on March 1, followed by performances at EDC Mexico, Don’t Let Daddy Know, and Parookaville.

Says ‘Heldens, "‘Let You Go’ is a song I wrote about saying goodbye, letting a loved one go, and moving on,’ Heldens says. ‘It originated in April last year after playing a show in Tokyo; the love/energy from the Japanese fans was quite overwhelming, in a positive way. I was pretty hyped after the show and jet-lagged so I couldn’t sleep. I ended up meditating, but instead of cooling down from that, it got me in kind of an ecstatic yet also melancholic mood. Right after that, in the shower, I started riffing melodies in my head, kind of inspired by one of my all-time favourite trance tracks, Chicane’s ‘Saltwater,’ and in the end, one of the melodies I came up with really stuck with me, so I recorded a voice note in my phone."

"The next day, I turned it into the first version, the instrumental track of ‘Let You Go,’ titled ‘Tokyo Shower Trance’ at the time. A few months later, after playing a HI-LO show in Chile while traveling to Lima, Peru, I came up with the lyrics for the song, and a few days later, I recorded them in Vancouver in my hotel room, singing them on my phone. I re-recorded the vocals when I got back in Amsterdam again, and after a lot of altering and adding vocoders/synths, it quickly became one of my favourite songs that I’ve done in the last couple of years. Enjoy!"

‘Let You Go’ arrives via Heldeep on 7 March 2025.
