Reinier Zonneveld reveals first names on thrilling r² festival line-up, including Scooter, Kobosil, Klangkuenstler, Paul Elstak, and Eli Brown
The festival will feature a stellar line-up across eight stages, each hosted by renowned institutions in electronic music, set against the iconic backdrop of Spaarnwoude. With more artists to be announced, the event promises to showcase over 50 of the world's most thrilling electronic music acts.
May 16, 2024 - As one of the Netherlands’ biggest music exports and the first Guinness World Record holder for the longest live electronic music set, Reinier Zonneveld stands as a towering figure in the global electronic music scene. This summer, the Dutchman solidifies his place in history once again as one of the few acts to host his own festival in his home country. The curated line-up for the R² Festival is a reflection of Zonneveld's unparalleled influence, featuring legendary acts that are rare sights on festival line-ups. Scooter's inclusion in the roster serves as a prime example of the calibre of artists in the line-up of this much-anticipated event.
With the first announced acts being international names such as Kobosil, Klangkuenstler, Paul Elstak, and Eli Brown. In addition, legendary German hard Dance act Scooter will also be making their very Dutch festival appearance in years. The lineup features over 50 of the biggest names in today’s electronic music scene.
Reinier Zonneveld Presents: R² will feature seven stages hosted by renowned music institutions, labels, and clubs that have been instrumental in Reinier Zonneveld’s illustrious career. The stages will include De Marktkantine, STOOR, Unreal, Amnesia Ibiza's Pyramid, Kompass Klub, and Filth on Acid.
Besides offering an extraordinary line-up that caters to all musical tastes, the festival will mark a significant milestone in electronic music history with the debut of R², a cutting-edge AI model trained on Reinier Zonneveld's extensive repertoire and live sets from over a decade. Reinier Zonneveld will be the first artist to integrate his specially-crafted AI live music project, R², into a live electronic music set, creating a unique back-to-back performance between human and computer.
This extraordinary AI model is uniquely crafted to autonomously compose tracks during the live show, utilising loops, samples, and other live elements in perfect harmony with Reinier's on-stage improvisations. This initiative challenges the conventional norms of the music industry, introducing a completely new dimension to the art form. Reinier's pioneering approach not only embraces technological advancements but also revitalises the live music experience with a refreshing and dynamic collaboration between the artist and the AI model.

August 17 will see the Spaarnwoude taken over by Reinier Zonneveld Presents: R², marking the official debut of the game-changing R² technology and full line-up of electronic music heavyweights.
The one day festival is not to be missed by electronic music and technology enthusiasts alike. The pre-registration opens on May 22 at 5:22 pm for the early bird tickets. Regular ticket sales will start on May 24.
