Rising techno talent Giulia drops peak time cut 'Shadow'
Rome-based DJ, producer and sound designer Giulia continues to make waves with her new track 'Shadow' on Kuukou Records while label head Simina Grigoriu remixes.
Giulia has turned plenty of heads of late with support from notable figures such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox and Amelie Lens. Her unique brand of techno has Giulia has previously come labels such as VOLTA, Respekt and OFF Recordings, all of it with energetic and rhythmically intricate designs, including her collaboration with Grigoriu on '0805' which showcased her dynamic approach to peak-time techno.
'Shadow' is a driving sound that combines intense synths with raw percussion and ethereal vocals that build momentum with driving kicks and sharp stabs. The breakdowns highlight Giulia's spectral vocals before the track intensifies once more for dark, immersive club settings.
Simina Grigoriu's remix takes a more minimal approach with a subdued bassline and intricate percussion to create a deep, rolling groove that retains the hypnotic qualities of the original while using Giulia's vocals sparingly.
