Ruiz OSC1 KAOS-DS03 Techno Nostalgia

This album marks the second release in the KAOS DELIVERY SERVICE series on the KAOS label, and represents a new chapter in my journey as an artist. Techno Nostalgia is not only my second EP with this label, but also a project that takes my musical roots and mixes them with the passion that has guided me from the beginning: techno music.

The idea for this EP came one day while listening to It Just Won't Do again. I realized that it could work perfectly in a dancefloor context. So I decided to do an experiment: during one of my sets, I mixed this song with a techno track to give it more strength and solidity. The reaction from the audience was incredibly positive; the song, created in 2002, evoked a strong feeling of nostalgia. This made me reflect on how music can transcend time, connect people and unite generations, stirring emotions in unexpected ways.

The edit was born, using the main melodies of the original song and adding my techno touch, without compromising authenticity.

The other tracks on the album, equally significant, are the fruit of my travels. While traveling alone as a DJ, which I often found boring, I decided to buy Ableton Note (iOS). “Designed specifically for the early stages of the music creation process, Note is an interactive app that includes a curated selection of drum kits, melodic instruments and Live synth sounds. You can use it to create beats, chords and melodies, or record the environment around you to create your own palette of sounds with Note's sampler instruments.” I used it to create simple patterns, which I then completed and mixed in the main Mac software.
