Shampain presents Millennium Madness
A sonic journey through Galway’s contradictions

Irish producer and DJ Shampain announces the release of Millennium Madness, his first full-length project. Written and recorded over 12 months in the heart of Galway, the EP captures the sounds, atmospheres and dualities of the seaside city and its surroundings, tracing its pulse across the four seasons.
Split into two halves —Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter— Millennium Madness explores opposing forces: night and day, good and evil, technology and humanity, city and nature. This duality is mirrored visually through the front and back artworks created by Sean Kennedy and Conor Ostheimer.
The record features contributions from fellow Irish artists, including Galwegians Bethany, Julie Dawson (of Newdad) and Rachel Trench, with Cork’s Elaine Malone lending her voice to the closing track Tearduct.
Musically, the EP spans from ambient textures to high-intensity passages, echoing the unique essence of Galway — where constant chaos can turn into complete serenity within minutes, much like a Shampain DJ set. Drum machines, pedals, mixers and synths intertwine with raw field recordings from the River Corrib, pub smoking areas, daily commutes, and countless days of pouring rain.
Taking its name from the legendary Salthill disco, Millennium Madness is a trip through subversive, effective dance music that pulls you into another world — and spits you right back out into reality.
