Sophie Lloyd Reimagines London Records Catalogue On New 'London Revisited' Ep

Glitterbox resident and "Calling Out" artist Sophie Lloyd has been given complete creative freedom and unfettered access to London Records' extensive back catalogue for a new four-track compilation titled London Revisited. Rather than selecting obvious hits, Lloyd chose B-sides and elusive rarities from East 17, Carmel, Maria Rowe, and Carlton, highlighting genres such as soul within the label's history.

Approaching the project with a focus on respecting the original artists' legacies, Lloyd tailored each edit for 2026 dance floors. The new version of East 17’s "It's Alright" delivers a gospel house feel with re-sung vocals by Sarah Ikumu, created with the approval of London Records' A&R team and songwriter Tony Mortimer. Additionally, Carmel’s "More! More! More!" was developed into a jacking house iteration featuring looped vocals after trying multiple versions.

The release also features an edit of Maria Rowe’s "Sexual," inspired by Graeme Park’s 1995 remix, alongside a subtle update of Carlton’s "Do You Dream." For Carlton's track, Lloyd preserved most of the original drum stems, adding a 909 bassline and triton string pads. As explained by London Records' Nick Fagg, the project aims to revisit and honor these historical recordings rather than reboot them, connecting the label's archive with a new generation of listeners.
