Trance champion Ben Hemsley announces new event series ‘Intimacy’.
Arena-filling DJ to play stripped-back gigs at small clubs
First three in February/March – Sub Club Glasgow, Secret Warehouse Manchester, and Cabaret Voltaire Edinburgh
Famed for spearheading the UK/Europe trance revolution, and for selling out huge venues in minutes, DJ/Producer/Bebé label boss Ben Hemsley gets back to basics and gives something back with his special new event series ‘Intimacy’.
Announcing the first three parties in Sub Club Glasgow, Secret Warehouse Manchester and Cabaret Voltaire Edinburgh in late February/early March (more TBA), the Geordie lad vows to return to his roots by playing a selection of stripped-back shows at small venues ‘for all the proper music heads out there’ while showing support to such beloved small clubs and their vital role in music culture, especially in these post-pandemic times. In the lead up to the shows, we get an early Valentine with Hemsley’s collab single with Armin Van Buuren out 13th Feb, ‘Is It Beautiful’ (Armin Van Buuren x Ben Hemsley Ft Lucy Pullin) on Armada.
Ben Hemsley’s recent performance highlights include: Creamfields Mainstage (45k+ crowd); his 9-gig Connection tour (30k+ attendance completely sold out); Warehouse Project (sold out in 5 mins); two-month Ibiza Residency 2023, returning in 2024 for similar success & becoming the best-selling show at Ibiza Rocks both years; not to mention his On The Waterfront Liverpool headline show, (12k tickets) and more!
Tickets on sale 10am Friday 17th January https://linktr.ee/benhemsley
Ben says: ‘I started out playing in tiny clubs. Now I’ve played big venues & broken records, but there’s something special about an intimate gig in an intimate venue with a banging sound system. So I’m starting ‘Intimacy’ to get back to my roots, no big screens, no SFX, just me, you lovely people, and the music.’
Hemsley’s had multiple accolades from BBC Radio 1 (inc. 3 Hottest Records), plus support from the likes of Marlon Hoffstadt, DJ Heartstring, Kettama, Malugi, Denis Sulta, Patrick Topping, Alan Fitzpatrick, Blk, Calvin Harris, Ferry Corsten… and now of course, Armin Van Buuren.
Watch this space for future ‘Intimacy’ gigs near you. Says Ben, ‘I honestly can’t wait for this!’
