Germany’s bootshaus introduces a radical new format with a techno ballet odyssey

This February, Bootshaus unveils A Techno Ballet Odyssey, an ambitious fusion of high art and club culture that brings ballet, live techno and an all-night party into a single continuous experience. Staged across three exclusive nights on February 26th, 27th and 28th, 2026, the project invites audiences into a world where choreography and club energy coexist, collide and ultimately reshape the idea of what nightlife can be.

Across three fluid chapters, the evening unfolds like a cinematic arc. From 20:00 to 22:00, the Pre-Show Party sets the first pulse: an opening DJ set designed to build tension as Bootshaus slowly shifts from dancefloor to theatrical space, setting the emotional and sonic frame for what follows.

The heart of the night emerges between 22:00 and 23:15. Here, the Berlin Ballet Company presents a 70-minute performance that refuses the traditional stage. Dancers move across three platforms embedded within the crowd, tracing the story of a central figure who dissolves into the night before navigating an Odyssean path back to self. The choreography is amplified by hypnotic visual design and a live techno score composed and performed by Marko Nastić, whose approach dissolves the boundaries between classical composition and club intensity.

From 23:15 until 06:00, the space transforms once again as the After-Show Party takes over: a full-scale techno night featuring Marko Nastić, Pauli Pocket of Kater Blau, Drumcode’s Sudo and Tresor resident Handmade. The transition is seamless, turning the ballet’s final breath into the first beat of the rave.

More than a crossover, A Techno Ballet Odyssey reimagines the architecture of a night out. At Bootshaus — long regarded as one of Europe’s most atmospheric electronic institutions — the raw shipyard setting, detailed production and uncompromising sound system become part of the narrative itself. The venue’s commitment to experimentation over VIP culture sets the foundation for a night where discipline meets chaos and the line between performer and audience dissolves entirely.
