Pretty Pink reflects on the success of her debut album 'Born digital' and future collaborations

Pretty Pink epitomises a new generation of energetic and authentic artists and has already made it onto the cover of Mixmag. It’s her passion for electronic music and an incredible feel for the crowd that make Pretty unique, positioning her as one of the most successful artists in the areas of melodic, progressive house & techno.

She plays the main stage at Tomorrowland Festival, as well as EDC Vegas, Ultra, Creamfields and Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo, to name a few. Pretty Pink featured in 1001 Tracklists report with her "Stranger To Your Love" remix - which is considered to be one of the most played progressive house remixes worldwide and also labeled as “Future of Dance”.

In addition to her two labels DEEP WOODS and WANDERLUST, she regularly releases on major labels such as Armada, Anjuna and Found Frequencies. These tracks have garnered continuous support by leading artists like Above & Beyond, Lost Frequencies, Ilan Blustone, Cosmic Gate, resulting in her streaming fanbase increasing steadily throughout. Her long-awaited debut album, which was celebrated worldwide, is now being followed by further impressive projects.

Congratulations on the success of your recent album release, "Born Digital"! How do you feel about the reception it has received so far?

Thank you! I'm truly overwhelmed by the positive response to "Born Digital." Seeing how listeners connect with the music and embrace the concepts behind the album has been incredibly rewarding. It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the project.

You've recently collaborated with three artists on remixes of tracks from your album. Can you tell us more about how these collaborations came about?

Collaborating with these talented artists was a fantastic experience. And I am very proud of their unique remix productions and am already looking forward to further collaborations.

You've had some remarkable achievements, such as performing at festivals like Tomorrowland and EDC Vegas. How do these experiences shape your artistic vision?

Performing at festivals like Tomorrowland and EDC Vegas has been surreal and inspiring. These experiences have fueled my artistic vision, pushing me to constantly evolve and innovate as a performer and producer. The energy and enthusiasm of the crowds remind me of the power of music to unite people and create unforgettable moments.

What inspired you to start your radio show "DEEP WOODS, and how does it tie into your overall artistic journey?

"DEEP WOODS" was born out of a desire to share my passion for electronic music with a wider audience. I wanted to create a platform where I could showcase my favorite tracks and introduce listeners to new sounds and artists. The show has become an integral part of my artistic journey, allowing me to connect with fans on a deeper level and explore different facets of my musical style.

With your album reaching millions of streams and earning you accolades like "Artist of the Month" on Beatport, what do you attribute to your success in such a competitive industry?

I believe that staying true to myself and my artistic vision has been key to my success in this competitive industry. I'm constantly pushing boundaries, experimenting with new sounds, and challenging myself to grow as an artist. But above all, it's the support and passion of my fans that drives me forward and inspires me to keep creating music that resonates with people.

Can you give us a sneak peek into any upcoming projects or collaborations you have in the pipeline?

I have some exciting projects in the pipeline, including collaborations with both established and up-and-coming artists. Without giving too much away I can already announce a new release in collaboration with Einmusik for the end of May 2024…so stay tuned!

How do you balance your time between managing two labels, releasing music on major platforms, and touring?

Balancing my various responsibilities can be challenging at times, but I have an amazing team behind me who help keep everything running smoothly. I prioritize tasks based on their importance and set aside dedicated time for music production, label management, graphic design and touring.

It's all about finding a rhythm that works for me and staying organized and focused. And as many people already know, sport is very important to me. A perfect balance to tour life!

Lastly, what message or emotion do you hope listeners take away from your music, especially from the remixes featured on your album?

Ultimately, I hope that my music brings joy, inspiration, and a sense of connection to listeners. Whether it's through the original tracks on "Born Digital" or the remixes, I want people to feel uplifted and moved by the music. Each track tells a story and evokes a range of emotions, and I hope that listeners find something meaningful in every note.
